I grew up reading The Berenstain bears with a flashlight under my covers after I was supposed to be asleep. I don't know how I feel about this critique, and can't really tell if the author approves of the books or not. Their message is certainly more wholesome than that of Eloise. When I was reading the Washington Post version of Papa Bear, I immediately thought, "Dad." So I think the author is off.

Also, I have never heard anal sodomy referred to solely as "Greek." I had heard that buggery was a popular form of contraception in Brazil, but that's nowhere near Greece or Italy.
