There was a new human in Nino's Cloisters, and he wasn't sure he liked that.

Granted the human was supposed to be there. He had a uniform and everything shy of a silly hat like all the other humans who worked as guards. Not a day guard, though, this one. A night guard.

Nino kept the air pulled tightly around him and chewed on his nail. He watched. The ghosts were moving about lazily, curiously, sadly, indifferently, searchingly in the way that ghosts did. As far as Nino could tell, the new human wasn't reacting to them. (As far as Nino could tell, though, the new human walked half-asleep and only opened his eyes to look at his sketching paper.) It was clear the human wasn't a witch; there wasn't a trace of magic to him at all. But there was something else.

Nino supposed if he watched long enough he'd figure it out.

Ohno wasn't expecting an action-packed night by any means. In fact, he was looking forward to something mellow and perhaps a bit more relaxing than his nights at MoMA tended to be. Some of the ghosts there were quite chatty and would follow him everywhere. He'd had to contract a witch at one point to make him a poultice to carry so they wouldn't follow him into the bathroom. THAT had been awkward, to say the least.

Here at the Cloisters though, things were definitely more subdued. Well, at least through the ghost population. There was something else here, too. Older than the ghosts but not something Ohno could quite pinpoint yet. It was hiding itself too much. It wasn't malicious though, and Ohno guessed the hiding was simply out of fear or curiosity.

Shifting a little on his bench, Ohno resumed the caricature he'd been working on of his art lit professor, waiting for the being to make a move. The man's nose just begged to be over-exaggerated. He just needed to remember to remove the sketch before his midterm. His figures professor ( ... )

Nino watched a nose appear on the paper under the new human's fingers. A very large nose. Not exactly a distinguished nose, either. A caricature type of nose. Nino had never been crazy about caricatures. But he supposed it was something for the human to do, and at least it was a good caricature technically speaking.

At least this human was more interesting than most of the others who'd been the previous night watchers.

Ohno couldn't say yay or nay to being more interesting than the other night watchmen, as he'd not met them. He was simply Ohno.

The sketch was fairly easy to accomplish, his fingers moving swiftly to form the image of his professor that he carried in his mind. Finishing it off with a quick swipe of shading, Ohno switched pages and moved on to a figure study he needed to work on. As fun as caricatures and adding his own twist was, his teachers didn't really appreciate it.

In the back of his mind, Ohno could feel the being nearer, but he didn't let on. In his experience, if they wanted to talk they usually did.
