After his slight confrontation with Misono, Sho had begun to think about things differently. He wouldn't say he'd budged on that feeling of betrayal, because his trust had been taken for granted. He wouldn't say he was any more comfortable with the idea of it being Yesung, because that in Sho's mind made things more intimate than he'd been anticipating.

But he could say he was sorry for acting like the sole victim, and for taking such a long time to himself. Maybe it wasn't actually a long time, but it felt like an eternity without his boyfriend, and it hurt a lot more than it helped ( ... )

Aiba very nearly fell out of his chair. He knew that voice.

As it was, he flailed, dropped the magazine, and his feet did briefly go up in the air before he regained his balance on the chair once again.

"Sho!" Aiba didn't mean to shout, it was just the surprise talking. He flushed a little at his spastic reaction, hesitating half-out of his chair as if he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. "W-what-what..."

What are you doing here? was on the tip of his tongue, but Aiba bit it back. Why question such a promising thing? Unless Sho was here to break up with him, and Aiba couldn't let himself think that.

"What do you want?" he said instead, looking at Sho with a cautious sort of hope.

Sho didn't mean to scare him like that, he'd just thought it was a good idea to get Aiba's attention. He moved forward a little to help his boyfriend if he needed it, but the demon was stable, at the very least, even if he was sort of weirdly hanging off part of the chair.

"I can't do this anymore," he expressed, immediately realizing how wrong that sounded and scrambling to fix it, "I mean being apart! I can't be apart anymore, sorry. Sorry, I meant... not seeing you. I can't do that not seeing."

Because it made him miserable and it kept him up at night and sleeping would be so much easier sometimes if Aiba could be there with him, warm and solid.

"I want you still."

Oh god, he hoped no one else was in the store.

Aiba's eyes did get kind of really wide when Sho's first sentence clued in to his slightly racing thoughts. It wasn't the only thing racing after that either, his heart kind of stuttering faster. He was definitely relieved when Sho rushed to correct himself, but Aiba's heartbeat remained quick.

Sho didn't really have to be the most eloquent. Aiba wasn't eloquent either and somehow they'd always managed to understand each other anyway. So it didn't matter much to Aiba that Sho was stumbling over words or the way he looked kind of incredibly awkward just standing there. Aiba finally decided what to do, pushing himself up out of the chair, if not a little clumsily himself, and moving closer to Sho.

He was still afraid, a little, to believe that things might...be okay again. Aiba didn't necessarily expect that Sho would forgive him, maybe not ever, but maybe Sho could accept him anyway.

There was a lot, a lot, that Aiba wanted to do, but he settled for reaching out and threading his fingers gently in the hair atop Sho's head, and ( ... )
