Maki had had...a very good week. An evening with Ohno and Nino earlier in the week had kept her rather in a happy daze through the rest of it. It had certainly taken away any of the residual ickiness she'd endured after the 19th's full moon ( ... )

Meisa was lamenting the fact that she'd forgotten the water repelling charm more than the warming one as her shoes progressively became soaked and her toes in turn got colder. Luckily, she could see Maki's building up ahead and would make it before frostbite set in (Meisa snorted to herself at her dramatics).

Trudging through the last few steps, Meisa glanced around to see if anyone was around as she buzzed Maki's apartment. No one. The little pack of people she'd been walking with had long since passed by. She cast a quick drying and warming charm - so much better! - as she waited for Maki to let her in.

Maki scrambled up from her spot watching the random station she happened to have chosen, a show on TLC about a bridal shop, when she heard the sound of the buzzer.

"Meisa, is that you? Come on up," she greeted with a smile into the receiver, bumping the button that would unlock the door. Then she unlocked her own door, leaning in the doorway to wait for Meisa's appearance in the stairwell.

When Maki's voice came through, Meisa smiled and walked into the warm building, humming a random melody as she made her way up the stairwell. Maki came into view as Meisa hopped up the last couple steps. "Maki! Hey! Long time no see, yeah?" she greeted with a grin and a hug, "How have you been?!"

Something felt different about her friend. If pressed, Meisa would say Maki looked... content. She'd ask later though, when they were deep in conversation. It wasn't something she wanted to bring up out in the hallway anyway.

Maki couldn't help bursting into laughter at the image of Meisa singing like that in front of a patient. It was just a delightful image. "I've been warned. Singing is generally frowned upon in a library, so I'd better be on my guard."

It was hard to shake her own amusement. Until Meisa brought up Maki's favorite, current, Broadway show.

"Oh Wicked is wonderful, you really do need to see it. Have you read the book?" It had been awhile since Maki herself read it, but it still stood out as one of those books that just really shined in her memory.

"The songs seriously call for bursting out into song, I think." Meisa grinned and ducked her head as Maki laughed. "Humming at the very least. Surely they wouldn't mind that at the library?"

Wicked had been on Meisa's list of to-see musicals since she read the book. She had been disappointed to miss the LA run of Wicked because of studying for her board exams.

"I have! Is the musical as good as the book? I feel like I should re-read the book before I see it!"

"Only if it's very quietly, and not in the reading room," Maki agreed, lips still curving in amusement. "The songs are good."

It made Maki think, it might be fun... "We should have a movie night sometime, and watch some old Disney movies." It had been much too long since Maki indulged herself in watching some of the nostalgic movies.

"It's not as good, they definitely changed some things, but it's still pretty amazing to see. It's very well done. When I went to see it, I went right home and re-read the book again."

"For some reason, I think bursting out into song in the library would be very Beauty and the Beast," Meisa chuckled. Which kind of fit with what Maki said next. "A Disney movie night would be fun! They don't make them like they used to."

She imagined that the two of them would probably end up singing along karaoke style. It'd be a ton of fun. "Just, maybe not Bambi. I always end up crying."

Well, now Meisa wanted to see Wicked even more than before. Maybe she could tide herself over by re-reading the book...
