In praise of the quieter moments

Because I feel the need to take things down a little before the approaching angst-storm that is sure to be the finale, and thought it would be fun to get some reminiscence in there too.

Nina's "Deal with it. It's happening." to George when he objects to playing I Spy while they waited in that green room in the series two finale. After a whole series of separation, blame, denial, and heartache for them; it was a wonderful little moment that showed how they just fit together.

Yes! I just rewatched that episode last night, and was so tickled by that scene!

Yup, this show is aptly named. It's great when the humanity of these characters shine trough.

I love any "housemate" moments. Like that ep in season 3 when they ended up discussing whatever house problem they had in Mitchell's bedroom. Personal space? What's that?

And that really awesome party scene at the end of the first ep this season.

Um, I know this scene was deleted but the whole thing about Mitchell being beaten up for George hitting on a neighbor's wife under Influence of Tully. "Doggy style, yeah, I know what happened--"

I adore that final scene with Ivan. He's such a complete bastard, except when it comes to Daisy.

But my favourite favourite is still the door scene in 1.05, when Annie's saying goodbye. She could have said all these deep and insightful things, and instead she flounders and says, "oh, FUCKING HELL!"
