Much as I love Princess Bride (which is a LOT), I still don't think you can really call Buttercup particularly remarkable. Likable, sure, but she exhibits so little agency it's appalling. Not to Sleeping Beauty levels of fail, but she's no Rose Tyler Jasmine.

This is very, very true. She has no level of BAMF; I feel like she can't save herself. But I think that's okay. It's kind of a classic fairy tale story, and as you mention with Sleeping Beauty, the girls were all kind of...lame. But I think Buttercup is still a nice character! I think she loves Wesley pretty unfailingly, and I mean, I don't think it's fair to be like "WHY DIDN'T YOU WAIT FOR HIM!?" I probably would have assumed he was dead too.

Princess Bride! I can't count how many times I've seen that movie. I have to ask, have you read the book? It's as awesome as the movie, with snarky comments from the 'editor' included, and backstorys for Inigo and Fezzik. Definitely ranks among my favorites.

I actually own the book but I haven't read it yet! I'm the worst for buying books I desperately want to read and then reading something else instead. And now I feel I'm on the verge of getting sucked into a Harry Potter reread, which I kind of want to resist, but also kind of want to put the rest of my life on hold to do... Anyway, I'll definitely be getting to Princess Bride in the fall semester. For sure.

Yes I included the End of Time as a Christmas special even though it ended on New Year's Day. Timey wimey, you know. AND HOW COULD YOU NOT INCLUDE WILF AND CHRISTMAS PRESENTS AS A CHRISTMAS SPECIAL? xD I kinda love all the Christmas specials, like, very very very very much. Of course Christmas Invasion has got to be tops. That's my first ever David Tennant episode actually, because I watched it all in order. And we all know how that obsession love continued.

Yes, each of the specials has something really special (har har) about it, and it was hard to pick one to come last. Well, it wasn't really, but I felt bad about it. xD

I had watched a Tennant episode or two before starting in order, and that was weird because I already adored Ten but I also really grew to love Nine, and in The Parting of the Ways I was like "oh no, I don't want him to go!" and Dad said "but David Tennant is next" and I said "oh, right...but...augh!" emotional confusion!!

Um, I don't know. I lean toward probably not, because it's really very weird, but sometimes you like very weird, so it's hard to say. Might be worth a try one day.
