I've been thinking over the last few months about my interests and goals, and it makes me think about the society we live in and the expectations of its youth... had I not felt it so important to go to school right away after high school, rush through it and graduate, maybe I would have chosen a different major, different school and a different ( Read more... )

That is certainly a perplexing part of the game of life. We are all expected, as teenagers, to choose a course. But, so many often find their original course (or dream) to be less fulfilling that they had imagined. I don't think I know anyone who did not change their college major at least once.

The futher you get down the road, the greater the potential upheaval to choose a new direction. Making such a decision (when it is not thrust on you by a lost job) is a bold and courageous act.
