Okay, I apologize for this, but I just can't keep it to myself...this pattern for a dog "sweater" is TERRIFYING. Utterly and completely terrifying. I feel sorry for those dogs. However, it's possibly even more terrifying that there is a pattern for a matching scarf for the owner. This is the pet equivalent of parents wearing clothing that ( Read more... )

Oh my god oh my god oh my GOD! I read your post, and I though "ehhh...yeah right, it's a dig sweater, how bad can it BE?" But HOLY CRAP that has got to be the most hideous thing I've ever seen on a dog. Do you see the look in that poor puppy's eyes? The one on the right, I mean. He's like "please, please don't make me make saucy teasing postures at the camera! I am so embarassed!"

I would LOVE to see your dog in a big gay doggie picture, though. Get working on that, okay?

Even if she doesn't get a Big Gay Dog Sweater, I'll get her a rainbow collar. You'll get that picture, I promise.

there are no words to describe the horror of that first "sweater." why aren't the PETA people all over this??? it's cruel, in my opinion.

i was looking for dog sweater patterns! i found a couple in the stitch and bitch books, but i haven't started them yet -- my list of projects is rapidly growing longer than i can handle. these are cute, though! i think my dog would probably look best in april. btw -- i totally agree with you regarding yarn selection. i LOVE my dog, but i don't want to make her a sweater that i have to wash by hand. (dude, i don't even want to make *me* a sweater that i have to wash by hand.)

PETA needs to expand their vision to include bad pet fashion choices. It's cruel to pets AND those that are subjected to the endless parade of ridiculous pet accessories.

I'm with you on the hand wash thing. I've mostly solved that problem with this stuff that smells like lavender. I fill my washer, throw in Eucalan, let it soak overnight, and then either spin out the water or roll it in towels if it's particularly delicate. Works well with washer or in the sink. And helps resist moths. Also comes in not lavender scented. I feel like an infomercial, but I LOVE this stuff.

I would laugh really hard if the product were actually labeled "not lavender."

holy crap, this stuff sounds awesome! i am totally going to try it. i like lavendar a lot, so i'll likely go with that. i am curious about the not-lavendar, though. i wonder what the "wonderful scent" is like?

thanks a ton!

Add away! I don't mind in the least. Although I usually don't add people right away. So as long as you don't feel offended if I read your LJ for a while before adding, it's all cool.
