Is the thing you're describing a joke? I'm not quite following you.

I've had my own experience with the word "niggardly", and was told not to use the word anymore when I'm teaching class. I find this to be completely ridiculous, so I use the word anyway, but stop to tell my class what it means.

Painful *and* funny. Happened on your LJ surfing journals with similar interests. Anyone who has an Aphra B. icon and calls herself Behnnie seems pretty interesting. My own LJ is named after one of her poems. Anyhow, I added you, hope you don't mind.

To tell you the truth, I like her and the idea of her and the themes she used and the life she lived infinitely more than her work itself. Gosh I was an awful English major. Bad bad bad...
