I love the Ren Faire. The fam is planning to go on July 26, weather permitting. What acts did you see? What was the best thing there this year?

I assume that you dressed appropriately. Please, post some pics on Flickr when you can. I can't wait to go and I need live vicariously through others until I can get there.

We started out with Dirk and Guido, then moved on over to Adam Crack (new this year, whips of fire; still getting into how to do Ren Faire, but very fun), then Barely Balanced (the "comedic acrobatics" group), then caught the Ded Bob show (which I think is also new this year and he was GREAT and VERY sarcastic). All four were a lot of fun-- as usual/expected. ;D

In between we ate too much, shopped too much (but bought little, thank goodness), and had a fun time checking out all the other costumes.

I'm still a little puzzled by the girl in the kimono, the guy dressed like Heath Ledger's "Joker," and the girl dressed like a Renaissance zombie with a noose around her gore covered neck... But the sweet, uber-period costumes were impressive as always.

I didn't have my camera cable until last night so hopefully I'll get my pics up some time tonight. Hooray!!

We saw Adam Crack last year... but he wasn't on a stage. He was on that grassy patch in the middle of High Street near the Midsummer stage (Yes, I had to look up the street name on the map at the Bristol website). Did he snap the cork off the top of the bottle?

Kristi and I saw Ded Bob and Smuj at the Michigan Ren Faire in '93 or '94 when we still lived there. We want to see them again this year. Is the show appropriate for the kids?

Ohhhhhhh! I thought Adam was new this year! And yes-- he was still out on the grassy patch, with a nice wide berth outlined in rope to keep the li'l kiddies at bay...

As for Ded Bob... I'd say that for the most part it was kid friendly. As best I remember the only parts that wouldn't be were times when he was just really sarcastic and some people don't like that. Or I guess for some kids they just might not get it so it would be appropriate but not funny.

I missed the Washer Well Women. I always like peeking in at their show as I pass. Never really gotten into Moonie or the Mud Show, though. Hm. But boy that Broon! Oh do I get into him!
