I think I forgot to mention this, but I'm glad you posted about Juneteenth the other day and how you ran into so many crowds on Locust last year, because I had been planning on going to my favorite yarn shop over on Humboldt and Locust either Wednesday or Thursday. I decided to go Wednesday. :-) I'm not really worried about getting pulled out of my car or anything (as those seemed to be isolated incidents), but crowds can be a pain in the ass to navigate through.
Yeah- and that was the thing about last year. I wasn't nervous at all until people started pounding on the cars around me as I drove down the street. It's unsettling being in a car and having hundreds of strangers surround you and start pounding on and kicking the cars in front of you. :S
I was glad to hear this year's events went off more smoothly, however. What worse way is there to disrespect the sacrifices of others than to commemorate them with stupid acts of petty physical violence?
