A second invasion has begun. Just like the last, our assailants are already dead; we have moved from defending against rotting corpses to ghosts. Yet these pirates cannot be permanently cut down. We can only resist, until a true solution is uncovered.
Mitsuhide and I will fight for as long as we must.
How is everyone holding out?
Japan?
event: ghost pirates,

You are a warrior, Selphie?
((OOC; Yes! :D big Patrick Wolf fan, here.))

[There is approval in his tone -- and a thred of curiosity.]
It was unusual, though not unheard of, for a woman to belong to an army where I came from.
((OOC; So envious, hahaha! You'll have to tell me all about it ;_;))

Are you guys already at that area? And yes... We're holding out fine.

No. We are still in the Lower District. We fight so that others may reach the Middle District. I'm sure we shall see you later, when we require rest and join you there.

If you need me for anything, feel free to call me up. I can still fight, too.

*And he doesn't need to ask you about them - they're his samurais after all.*

Are you at one of the designated safe locations? Or do you still fight?

My swordsmanship still seems to be in tact.

This has happened before? What sort of tactical knowledge might you have concerning what we face?

During the first invasion, our enemies' ranks seemed endless, even a week on. It was Vatheon that finished the battle in a single blow... with a wave of heat that turned them to dust.
These ghosts are far less in number. But they simply rise again, a short while after their defeat. To end this we must find a way to keep them from rising again. Yet if we cannot, given time I am certain that those in charge of Vatheon will.
So enduring this is our most important task.

So little seems effective yet there exist safe locations which the ghosts cannot tread. If we can harness such an energy or force which keeps the spirits at bay, we will be able to force them back and all can take refuge within the barrier.

[Their enemies are unatural and strange, but go down easily enough, just as the zombie mermaids had done so before. The problem seems to be that they do not stay defeated, so for the moment, the only objective is to hold them back while those who cannot fight retreat to the safehouses.]
[Mitsuhide's blade is as quick and efficient as always, slicing through the pirates one by one. He has not avoided injury completely, but neither are any of his wounds anything serious.]
[He decapitates another pirate and steps in closer to Motochika.]
I knew something was coming...
[He wipes his brow.]
But I confess I did not expect more undead creatures. Perhaps I should have.

No one anticipated them.
[There is a pause, then solemnly, Motochika adds:]
We have now witnessed their power for ourselves. Did you notice, my friend? These ghosts do not seem strong enough to have split the coral in half.
[He wonders if Mitsuhide has entertained similar thoughts. There is little difference in their experience, after all.]
It may not be their own power that returns them to life.
