Psych 3x15 Review

Feb 14, 2009 21:27

As follow-up to my Preliminary Psych Squee Post from last night, here's a slightly more coherent review post in which I attempt some somewhat "in-depth" character analysis (which really just means I prattle on about how much I love Carlton).

Do it for the children )

(fandom) psych, (ppl) timothy omundson, episode review, (ppl) james roday, (fandom) supernatural

Yay, I so totally agree with you on everything!

I think this is my fave Lassiter episode though because we see this emotional/vulnerable side to him and it didn't make me cringe to see it because not many writers/actors can do those kinds of scenes well where it feels genuine and not as though they're just acting it, and Tim Omundson totally sold me on his character (not that I didn't like him before, but now I'm so totally in love with him).

Just, wow, this is one of my top fave episodes of Psych as well.

Tim Omundson was totally amazing in this episode. He's been so great this whole series, really, but this season especially. I've never hated Lassiter, but this season I've completely fallen in love.

I love it when an episode plays with a trope, and this one hit all my happy buttons. Especially the beginning, with the pretty little blonde, all alone, who startles at the window--then the kettle--then the phone--before the 'killer' finally arrives. I worked at a summer camp very similar to this one once (at the snack bar...I'm not very good with kids), and the fantastic rickety-creepiness of everything made me squee.

Dude, the sarcastic guy with all the hair? Bears an eerie resemblance to a guy who works at the local doughnut shop, sense of humor and all. Considering that I live close enough to Santa Barbara that he very well could be from there... *cue Twilight Zone theme* He also taught me cribbage. Not the strip variety ( ... )

LOL! I'm kind of surprised they didn't use Juliet's heels as a way to pull a "Oh my ankle!" moment. But it seemed like they were trying to keep her character outside of the horror movie parody.

I used to be pretty apathetic toward Lassiter, but this season I'm totally in love.

And I totally loved jealous Wee!Shawn (and jealous Adult!Shawn, for that matter).

This episode had such a weird feel to it, but I still liked it. I couldn't believe how serious it got with Lassiter's storyline. The hazy, widescreen, horror film parody feel of the rest of the episode was A+. And Gus made me lol quite hard in spots.

Roday has great talent, I think. I usually love the episodes he helps write.

I love that this show can do the serious just as well as the funny. There are so many programs that can't do both without one coming off as incredibly lame. I generally enjoy Roday's episodes as well.

lol, maybe they had the pool toys for the lake? Either way it cracked me up.

This season has gone by too fast. :( I want more!
