only in the US. In China or Japan or even place like Czech Republic you can smoke as much as you want and do so almost anywhere. But I forgot -- the question *was* about the US (or was it?). I won't be surprised if the US bans cigarettes before going completely under. After all it is the only non-Muslim country that ever banned alcohol (Finland had had a temporary ban between two wars as well) and is in process of constantly fighting (Communism, alcohol, poverty, tobacco, personal rights, terrorists, drugs, etc) and fictitious threats, until hopefully one day it will be no more and the world will breathe a collective sigh of relief. Then light up and have a drink:)

Nah, they won't ban cigarettes. They make too much on taxes.

Eh, they'll just raise the taxes on alcohol...or gas...or something.

MY PREDICTION MUST BE RIGHT!

lol, just kidding. I have no idea why I even care; I don't smoke. I'm sure a quote by Voltaire would fit here or something....

I get that smoking is bad for you, and for others, but, really? No smoking in bars? That's a destruction of the cliche right there.

That was going to be my answer too, by the way.

Yeah I think the smoking bans on bars is crazy. It's like, they're boozing up...they're obviously not THAT concerned about their health. I have a lot of friends who only smoke when they drink, so they're missing out on a lot of tax money right there.

I think the ban on smoking outside is the most ridiculous thing ever. If I've ever been behind someone who's smoking and the smoke's blown in my face, I've moved a step over...problem solved.
