Hi, everyone! Today is our discussion of Something About You. I don't really have any specific questions, but what did you think of it? Did you like Cameron and Jack? What did you think of the supporting characters? How sad are you that this wasn't turned into a TV show (it was pitched to a few networks in the past ( Read more... )

I sort of forgot how much fun this one was. Given how much I like books two and four, I don't go back to this one as often as I should. But there's soooooooo much good stuff in this one, between the motorcycle and point two's and Cameron's refusal to take off her heels and just the TALKING TO EACH OTHER, which I always feel like shouldn't be a notable thing in a romance but always is.

So yes. A++++++++. Would read again.

I feel the same way! I tend to go back to two especially and more recently four, and I don't go back to this one as much. I forgot just how great it really is. POINT TWO. The bachelorette party and club scenes! Always with the talking to each other. ALWAYS.

Same. I should really read this whole series more often.

Yeah I love this one so much. I still think this might be my favourite one?

I didn't know that about the TV show! I'm not sure if I would have liked that or not? like how would it work?

It's not my favorite (I think that's 4, then 2) but it was great rereading this because I had forgotten just how much I really love this one, too. Cameron and Jack are fantastic.

From what I understand, the TV show would have been set up so that S1 was all pre-book stuff, the three years ago part of the book, ending with him calling her out on TV. Then S1 would essentially have been this book, and then they'd go from there. That's what she was talking about at her signing in April.

I'm not sure they had plans for much after the first two seasons (if they do, then Julie either didn't talk about it at the signing or I'm completely forgetting), but it would have been awesome to see the other couples eventually worked in! I would have loved that.

I had a lot of fun re-reading this. I'd forgotten how muc Jack and Cameron just fit, because I like some of the other couples more but there are such great things in this one. The underwear game, Wilkins, Collin (!), the wedding, the Bette Davis singing, etc. The excellent chemistry between the two main characters always comes across well in her books, and it was nice to go back to the beginning.

I may reread one of the series every two months and try and lessen the wait until the next new one. Because whyyyy is the wait so long.

I'm forever sad this won't be a tv show. Especially because seeing the backstory stuff with how they met spread out over a whole season would've been pretty great.

Me too! My love for Nick/Jordan and Brooke/Cade made me forget, but I LOVE JACK AND CAMERON A LOT TOO. And having a chance/excuse to go back to revisit some of the great things about this book was really fun!

I support this. I'm really excited for the next one! And then hoping we get Ford's book because FORD.

Same.
