In case you missed it, our June book is Someday, Someday, Maybe by Lauren Graham.

And now it is time to talk about books! What is the last truly awesome book you read?

Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh was awesome! Looking at my other recent reads, I guess I've had some disappointments lately. Not huge ones because I hadn't even thought of it that way until I actually checked my GoodReads, but things I liked less well than I'd hoped.

Right now, I'm reading The Shadowy Horses by Susanna Kearsley and enjoying it!

I also DNF'd a couple of romances this week. Might need to just avoid that genre for a bit.

Looking through Goodreads the only thing I've rated 5*s this year was "Tell The Wolves I'm Home' by Carol Rifka Brunt. I've really liked a couple of other things ('The Raven Boys' & 'Ready Player One' in particular) but nothing else has really wowed me.

BUT

I'm starting 'Rose Under Fire' (the companion book to 'Code Name Verity') tonight and I have high hopes for it! PLEASE DESTROY ME WITH WONDERFUL LADIES!

Why is this comm so quiet when so many people on my flist are reading all the time? GoodReads is stealing our people!!! (For once the enemy isn't tumblr, heh.) The last awesome book I read was I Got You, Babe by Jane Graves, it's not going to change the world but I had such fun reading it, it was quite a page-turner and I loved both characters, I mean, a bail-jumper falls in love with a cop! Aww, right? ;)

I feel like I've really liked a lot of the books I've read lately, but I'm not sure I've read anything in a while that made me go WOW which is a bummer.

The Kate Dnaiels books were the last ones that gave me that MUST READ OVER AND OVER feeling, but I did really enjoy the latest Nalini Singh and am having fun with Susanna Kearsley.

Late comment is late...

I am still not over how much I loved "The Passage" by Justin Cronin! Such a good read, really! It is - of course - a trilogy, and the second book, "The Twelve", lies on my to-read pile already, and I'm very much looking forward to it!!

I had a few first books of trilogies that I had already read like two years ago, and only recently, I bought the other books for those [gift certificates FTW!]. I already mentioned the "The Wolves of Mercy Falls" series by Maggie Stiefvater, which I really liked. And currently, I'm reading the third book in the "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" series by Carrie Ryan, which I think I like even more! I remembered the first book to be really good, but now the second and especially the third really blew me away! Definitely getting 5/5 stars on Goodreads, too. ;)

Late is better than never! :D

That's great! I know some of my friends really loved The Passage, but I haven't checked it out. Maybe someday!
