first off, YAY LONG CHAPTERS!
secondly, good take, i like seeing the whole thing from a crew boy's POV, and Maccus especially since he's one of the few who seem to have a brain in his head. :D gotta love his commentary. :D

I think it's fine the way it is, but hell, you're the author, so re-edit as much as you want til it fits yer vision. :D

I only need to do a few edits for Maccus' appearance. Mmmmmm. My OC was totally not meant to end up with him, but when I started writing it seemed right, somehow, so now I've changed at least parts of the plot.

*sigh*

I think I have not one but 5 muses and they can't bloody well agree on what they'd like me to write.

Normally I only read OC fics for the purpose of imagining myself in the OC's place, so it happens most often with smutfics hehe. But there are movies and books where you have to make up a female character in order to believably place her in the location you want. A female in LotR for instance - none of the existing ones can credibly go with the Fellowship. It's the same with Lizzie and Tia in PotC - If I wanted a woman amongst the crew, I'd have to make one up.

And since I'm a perfectionist she had to be credible, which is to say she'll be no Lizzie, who is in fact the least credible of all the personalities in those movies :P She's too good at what she's chosen to do, i.e. fight and whack pirates over the head with oars.

Either ways, thanks for the praise. I'm hoping to finish chapter 2 sometime next week - if all goes well :P

I've called in sick to work today. Spent most of my intended time for sleep on horrid stomach pains instead, and I have a cold so bad it's the worst I've had in years. My tonsils are so swollen and sore I can even yawn without it hurting like nobody's business - much less swallow.

But that means I have all day to write :D Yay!

Now, if only I didn't feel so miserable...
