We don’t think this is the best time for studying things, Elder! We were just told there are creatures here who attack people!

LADY ASKA, the very reason why it's of vital importance for you to learn this technique is that there are creatures here who attack people...!

But, wouldn’t hiding be better…?

They looked really scary…

The books -- but how? And why?

...Burned, tragically enough.

I'm afraid I have no answer as to why. Perhaps to send us a sort of message, perhaps just out of pointless savagery.

Terrible. How could anyone do such a thing to something so priceless?

That's wonderful! I'm so glad you were able to make a few copies because I know Klarth's been moping ever since he found out the books have been going up in flames.

[She's barely been able to get him to speak two coherent words since it seems like.]

You wouldn't happen to have a handy list would you? I can double check and see if there's any in particular he might want as soon as this whole silly event is over!

...Ah. [Such enthusiasm! Such optimism! It's a wonderful change!]

((ooc: I know the thread is pretty old so if you want to hand wave the interaction, go right ahead. All the LJ downtime has made my RP drive suffer quite a bit, but LJ seems a bit more stable now...))

Me? a librarian? Oh no! I just help around the house, but Klarth is a professor here and he's been doing research into summoning or something like that. He's really a very nice man. He let me stay with him just for doing the chores!

Indeed we do. Yet what little help I can provide I will offer. Even if it doesn't cover a more urgent need, it may well help make a difference.

I understand. And it is a good thing, your offer -- I bet a lot of people will appreciate it.

I only wish there was more I could do about the more pressing matters.

Do you know if what safe havens have been created are accepting volunteers?
