Author Notes: Well, what can I say? Hi? I've been lurking for awhile, and decided that I'm going to finally submit something, now that something resembling a plot bunny has bitten and infected me. >.>;
Summary: After a period of relative normalness and peace, the unexpected happened: Sam starts showing side effects of being too close to the Allspark upon its destruction, something no Autobot or Decepticon, let alone a human, should do.
This is a combination of a dream still floating around in my head, a plot
bunny from
lady_foxfire, and an idea I had stuck in my brain that wouldn’t come out. And it’ll get weirder. Just hope it’s a good weird, and not the ‘I’m not going to read’ kind of weird. *coughs* Anyway… Read and review, please?
What had started happening to Sam was a gradual process. The first sign, oddly enough, was an urge to hug Bumblebee when he was in car form. It was a bit awkward for Sam to hug the steering wheel (he was in the drivers seat when this ‘urge’ hit), but he was successful non-the-less.
And that, Sam later reflected, was when all the madness began…
It was the summer after their senior year for both Sam and Mikaela, and time once more for their biweekly medical checkups (After reading a bit too much information on the internet, Ratchet now insisted. Strongly. And threateningly… )
They went in mid-afternoon and brought an overnight bag, planning on seeing the newest additions to the Autobot base and personnel, having been unable to visit for the past few months due to graduation and exam frenzy.
Mikaela was perfectly fine, though Ratchet cautioned her to eat better, because, “all that greasy food is not healthy for any being on the planet, let alone one as active as you.”
Sam replied in her defense that it was pretty normal and that they were still teenagers, so it was to be expected. Ratchet just looked at Sam before Sam hastily agreed with him about needing to eat healthy.
… Both would now be having a healthily balanced dinner at the Autobot base tonight…
But that conversation quickly derailed as Sam’s check-up proceeded. At first, Ratchet had no idea what was wrong with his friend, but after some more thorough scans, and a pinprick of blood taken from Sam, a more concrete answer was found.
His body, for all appearances and purposes, was human. But in every cell of his body was a little extra bit. While the function varied depending on purpose, it seemed that his body was beginning a process of turning him into a Cybertronian.
When Ratchet explained this, it only took a moment for Sam’s brain to click the information into place.
“Well, that explains some things,” He muttered quietly before his eyes rolled back into his head - he fainted.
If his friends present - Mikaela, Ratchet, and Bumblebee - weren’t so worried, they would have laughed at his reaction.
