Thanks to the magic or whatever-it-is of Milliways, when Ben went back out the door he was affected by the caffeine in his coffee, not the alcohol in his vodka. This is a bonus.
Trying to explain Milliways to Sal doesn't go all that well, but finally she agrees that if he can bring her something that would not at all be on the ECS 5, she'll believe that he's not insane.
With that happy thought in mind, Ben goes about his week. He has just decided to ask for a coffee bean in some kind of foil wrapper when he goes through the door to the simulator...
