[After being slightly stunned that a) Ariadne called and b) Ariadne cared enough to call, Arthur hits redial... and gets Ariadne's answering machine. Go figure.]
[After almost getting hit by a bus crossing the street ("He called back!"), she hits redial and--wow--gets his voicemail. Again.]
Good to know, I guess.
[She sounds a little harried, as well as amused. There are sounds of traffic in the background, and she huffs audibly as someone on the street bumps into her.]
Asshole. [Laugh] I hate playing phone tag. Uhh... I'm on my way to class, but I'll be out for lunch in a few hours. If you want to, you know... call back. I get out at 1:30. Don't feel obligated or anything, either-- [Another laugh] Not that you'd feel obligated, but, you know, you don't have to if you don't want--shit, jackass, watch what you're doing!
[Yes, she just almost got hit again, this time by a minivan. There is honking.]
Okay, I'm going to hang up before I get myself killed. Talk you later. Maybe. If you want to. Uh... bye.
[And Arthur's just resigned himself to playing phone tag with Ariadne, but if she's in class there's no way for her to call back any time soon. He'll probably just make his way down to the architecture school around 1:30...] All right, I'll meet you. Where did you want to go?
Remember to look both ways before you cross the street. [Was that a joke? It might have been. Or he might just have been concerned for her safety. Or possibly both.]

[There's water running, and she shuts it off to fumble her phone audibly.]
Crap. Sorry, I'm draining pasta. Uhm... I guess I was just calling to, you know, ask how you were and everything--
[Another pause, and she swears in the background.]
My mom's calling--I'll let you go... err, if you can let someone go via voicemail.
Call me?
