Ahw, my final day in Haarlem, so I'm saying goodbye to the fancy Royal Suite *happy sigh*. For my last bit of vacation away from home, I'm meeting up with brotherdearest H. He often cycles from Amsterdam through Haarlem to get to the beach and he was happy to show me a couple of sights that I had missed on my first visit ( Read more... )

Big or little brother? (I mean, he's bigger than you, obvs LOL, but is he older?). Looks like you had a wonderful break from normality - I'm envious!

Heh, even though they are taller, I'm the big sister to both of them;) This is my youngest brother, I'm ten years older. My other brother lives in Australia with his family (he is two years younger than I am).
It was such an awesome day, it did indeed make me forget about the weird 'normal' world for a while.

That shower is awesome! :D
I love that gate, too - it's gorgeous! The whole town is.

The sea, the sea - I miss it! What lovely dunes and beach, and to just go coasting along on a bike - delightful!

You and Brotherdearest are a fine pair. :D

Thank you so much for once again sharing your delightful adventures!

The bath was my favorite, but that shower was kick-ass too \o/

Yeah, I live far away from the sea, it always feels like vacation when I get a chance to go there!
We had loads of fun, happy to share part of it:)

Just scrolled through all of the 3 posts. I'm always for the food. And the BLUE BALLS in that church. Glad you got some distraction . <3

All the food was SO.GOOD. *licks lips just thinking about it*

I still don't understand what was going on with that art in the church. I think the artist pulled a prank on them with the sparkling blue balls :-p

Great pictures. I love old medieval northern European architecture - the Amsterdam Poort is beautiful!
How lovely to catch a (virtual) glimpse of your brother! :)

I'm very happy and impressed there is still so much medieval architecture around. There's a similar gate in my hometown, but I'd never seen this specific type of brickwork, very cool.

It's always a joy to hang out with brotherdearest:)
