Ever since meeting on my brother's birthday years ago and discovering we had similar tastes, I've been mailing about books, films and music with Jelle. Over time these e-letters became huge, so recently we both agreed to try to keep our reviews as to the point as possible;-) Here's my first effort for the books I read in January and February.

So here's the rec I have for you: 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff (usually in one volume with the sequel, The Duchess Of Bloomsbury Street). The former is a series of letters between Hanff when she was a poor female writer in New York and an employee at an antique book shop in London (lasting from 1949 to 1969) and the sequel is her diary from when she finally got to visit London. It's basically a love letter to London and literature and it made me cry and laugh a lot. Read it! :)

I'm putting your rec on my shopping list for London. Until then I'm sticking to my budget to save money for trip to Oz. Fortunately I have a sufficient bookpile to distract me until then;)
