Well, I'm glad to hear that someone finds this amusing.
Just kidding! *g* Laugh away; that's what this is for. Nothing works better against identity crises and vicious self-wallbanging than snarky humour. AND DAMNIT I STILL WANT TO STRANGLE MYSELF FOR SAVING UP MONEY TO BUY THE ANVENGERS. Though it will take a few weeks for me to purchase them. Firstly, I have to actually get the money, and secondly, I must obtain the volumes with great secrecy and stealth, lest my parents will mock me for a very long time. (And trust me, "mocking the daughter" is high up on dad's list of interests.)
So please, do laugh at my hair-tearing conflict with myself. It makes me feel better, for some unfathomable reason. Oh, and thank you! ♥
Out of all the defense mechanisms out there, I'd say humour is the best one ;) Beats getting all emo and going 'OMG WAI AM I SO WEIRD I MUST BE THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO FEELS THIS WAY WAHHHH' aka goth phase during the eighth grade or whatnot :p
And hahaha, on a more serious note, I don't think there's anything wrong with taking pleasure in the hobbies that you do, really - as long as you're really enjoying them, it's all good, right? Not that a little discretion ISN'T the better part of valour sometimes, too. I mean okay, it's a little unconventional, but we all have our quirks and that is what makes us ~*~special~*~ :D
Pfft, being emo is horribly overrated. ::insert dismissive flick of wrist:: And anyways, fandom has taught me many, many things, and one of them are that you're never alone. Not ever. It's a very comforting thought. (Like when I watched Top Gun with my mum? She didn't get the blatant ho-yay at all, but the internet does. Oh yes it does.)
Ah, yes, the unique little snowflake theme! :D But really, I don't know what's wrong with me. I proudly proclaim all of my obsessions to anyone who'll listen (and even some who won't...) but for some reason the thought of mum and dad finding out I read comic books gives me the jitters. My brother gets it, so that's fine, at least.
... DAMN YOU, ROBERT DOWNEY JR., DAMN YOU TO HELL! IF YOU HADN'T TURNED MY HEAD SO MUCH I WOULDN'T BE IN THIS SITUATION IN THE FIRST PLACE! (Have you seen the film? I think I've just discovered why the saying "drop dead gorgeous" exist. Guh.) Ah, right, I'll wipe myself dry and stop nattering about this, right, okay.
"I'M CAPTAIN BASCH VON ROSENBURG!" "A bit young, aren't you, lad?"
Ah, sorry, but your icon distracted me! *g* (I've just left the Euryt Village and am on my way to Mt. Bur-Omisace. I've never gotten further than the King's tomb before, though, so I'm a little bit unsure of what will happen.) GAH SIDE-TRACKED AGAIN.
*rubs cheeks* Hey, that's what I usually do. Well, what I want to do, when a teenage idol woobie shows up on the telly (like, say, Angel~) -- pinching cheeks is really a forgotten form of art. Good to know I' not alone!
*looks sideways at her Genesis/Phil Collins collection*
AHA! ::insert manical evil laugh:: ... I have that live show on CD, though I can't for my name remember the name of it. Phil Collins is the singer, at least. And he plays drums like he'd sold his soul for it. I still love his compositions for Tarzan the most, though, due to naïve nostalgia.
I LOVE FFXII!! It was so fun... "OF DALMASCA!!!" <--I got so tired of Vaan...I wanted to slap him. I tried shouting to everyone that I was Basch while standing next to the real Basch wondering if my notoriety would go down immediately...
Phil Collins is FULL OF WIN. His stuff before Tarzan is even more awesome, imo. "In the Air Tonight", "Rain Down on Me", and "Take Me Home" are a few of my favorites. "Long Long Way to Go" is another good one, too...
