Hello, April.

The internet police here at the office block a lot of things, but I really don't understand the deal with photobucket. I'm only able to see about half of any photos posted to LJ that are hosted by photobucket. Including things from my own photobucket account. If they blocked all photobucket accounts, I could better understand it, but why I can see ( Read more... )

I love those sales!!! You end up buying stuff you wouldn't normally buy but feel you can justify it with...'It's on sale. I got a 4-for-3 deal so it's a good price.' *BG*

I loved Dresden Files - the series and thus bought the first book. Wasn't enthralled... actually I don't think I made it through the first third of the book which annoyed me because apparently the later books get a great deal better.

Would you recommend the audio? (wondering if Marsters carries the novel the way he would the part if he'd taken the telly job)

See, I'm mostly the opposite. I found the series to be mediocre. Enjoyable, but not much to write home about. I love the books, and find myself wishing that the series had been more true to them. So I can't say if you'd like them better with James reading them, but I think he does a fantastic job, and gets better with each one. The third book is where things really start getting good, so if you didn't care much for the first one, you might try the third audio book. I might be able to rip copies of the CDs, if you'd like. :)

Stephen Fry/Hugh Laurie version of Jeeves and Wooster? If so it is entirely made of awesome. I think I have discs of it and 'A Bit of Fry & Laurie' if you want copies?

Any chance you could do me copies of the audio books? I liked the series and have the first four books but so far have been a bit underwhelmed with the books. Am half way through Book 2. I agree with you that adaptation for TV should have been better and I like book version more but I at the moment I think the writing is a bit too much like reading someone's RPG and Dresden has a touch of the Marty Stu about him. By the sound of it Book 3 improves and I like the sound of the audio books as then I could listen on way to work as well.

Yep, Fry/Laurie. They rock in anything they do, together or on their own. Speaking of Fry, selannia has most all seasons of QI downloaded, and we've been watching that. I really love that show! So sure, if you get time to make copies of Fry and Laurie stuff, that'd be great. I've only seen the first three episodes of Jeeves & WOoster. Oh, and Chuck has set up connections so I can hook up my laptop to the big screen TV, and any file that's playing on the laptop will show on the TV. So any format VLC will play works for me now. I'm finally looking forward to watching all those other disks you've made for me ( ... )

I haven't heard any of the audio version of the Dresden Flies, though I must say the thought of Marsters as the voice of Dresden does tempt me much. If they don't make any more of the audio books you really MUST go out and get the paper books because they're seriously wonderful. I think the series just gets better and better as it goes along.

Can I hire James to sit in the back seat and read them to me? ;)
