Thanks to the kindness of friends, I have seen a number of movies recently--award winning and otherwise. (Sometimes very otherwise.) This raises the question, "Bruce, why are you writing about a 35 year old Japanese horror film that was essentially undistributed in the U.S. until 2009/2010 instead of something a bit more recent?" Glad you liked it! I keep hoping someone will like the reviews enough to contribute admission, but it never seems to work out. If you want links to any of the earlier ones, let me know: the one for Underworld had a lot of hits at one point, and then there was the royal mess at Making Light where we were discussing The Spirit and a Frank Miller fanboy showed up as a rape apologist for action movies--my points were well received but he managed to turn the thread so toxic they had to close it, which means that the good work I did there is forgotten.
