Well, I went to a friends party on saturday. Saw a few people that I hadn't seen in years, including one guy from school, who always passed the time by insulting me. He hasn't changed one bit

I spoke to another member of staff, and they said it was JUST family. What kind of insane supermarket stops someone from serving someone (FOR A PINT OF MILK) that they have seen once in 7 years?
Bear in mind that in seaton, there are probably more people who know a member of staff than those who don't.
Even if he wasn't allowed to serve me, then why wait until I am at the front of the queue to tell me? He knew I was there five minutes before I got to the front of the line.

Like the man called pie said, chill dude. The guy either was or was not being an arse. Your reaction suggests that this guy has some kind of emotional hold over you, why ? I mean if you really only seen him once in the last seven years, why are you going so annoyed over this ?
Well anyway point is, life is to short. Concentrate on stuff that matters.

The guy spent all the party on saturday winding me up. This was normal for when we were in school (7 years ago). I in return responded with similar treatment, for the small amount of time I wasnt actively avoiding him.
It was not the fact that he can hold a grudge this long, (nothing specific to have a grudge over) It is the fact that after having not seen him in 7 years, his first response was to insult and belittle me, when I was hoping to have fun. I had fun anyway, I just can't believe that he has moved on so little. Other things about it were annoying too, but they are more complicated.
Anyway. I spent all my time in school being hassled by people like him, and having no outlet for it. It was like being back in school, only having somewhere to let off a bit of steam. (complete with someone trying to defend someone whose only purpose seemed to be to make my life unpleasant).
Ah well. I'll go another 7 years, and see if he has gotten any better...
Not actually working this saturday, but since I am LRP'ing sunday (one day event...) I'll be unable to make the round trip in time, and I can't afford a train ticket atm anyway. (nearly, but not quite.)
Just to clear up a mistake Dave made recently, I did not say I am working saturdays. I said I dont know if I'll be working saturdays, since I am covering for a guy who left our warehouse staff, leaving me on mon-fri for now. When he is replaced, either I'll be back in the shop, on as yet unknown days, or I'll be still on mon-fri, as I am one of the candidates for the warehouse job.
Should know within a week, so I'll pass the info on.

Take a triangular piece of broken glass. Tape up one end so you don't cut your hand. Insert the sharp end into the young offender. Offer solace to the young offender's mum. OR Explain how anyone can get served in a community as small as yours where every customer is bound to know at least one cashier. Explain why cashiers greet customers in my local Tesco, speak about their kids, if they're going to the pub tonight, etc. How do Tesco staff use their staff discount cards? Or must they go to Sainsbury's?
It is a silly rule. And you're right, worse have tried to start fights with you; you cousin to proto-simians, you.

He CANNOT serve you, he can't serve me, my family, Gofer, anyone he knows. He wasn't being pissy.
Anyway, he's already handed in his notice to that job days ago so theres no point ;)
Chill man.
