Taxes on Shipping

Dec 14, 2008 01:40

The stupidest thing about Nordstrom.com is that they tax on shipping. That's about the only thing, but come on. If you're making me pay $8 for standard shipping, why would you tax it? It costs them probably about $4-$5 to actually ship the item to me.

Anyway, I bought these sneakers tonight, for casual wear, with one of the two $50 gift cards I received for my birthday back in October:

And yes, in the RIBBON RED featured in the picture, too. They were on sale for $31.90, plus the stupid $8 shipping fee...and tax on the item AND the shipping. I still have a few dollars left on that $50 gift card from either Sheree or Amy. Heh.

Taxes on shipping or not...the item should be delivered to my office by Friday. I think the last time I ordered, my package arrived by Wednesday or Thursday, but that wasn't during the holiday season. I know the head office is based in Seattle, Washington, but I forget where their fulfillment center is. I hope UPS or FedEx or whatever courier service they use (they used to use DHL Ground, but they've since pulled their US Ground services) has their act together and delivers in a timely manner.

I hope the possibility of the fulfillment center running out of stock of the shoes is slim to none. I'm hoping Nordstrom.com proves to me again that they have their act together far better than Macys.com did earlier this year!

Until then, I will fulfill my unnatural obsession with tracking numbers and tracking packages by hitting "Refresh" on my browser, come Monday morning when they send me a confirmation of my order.

friends, endless shoes, good things, instant gratification, materialistic corner, zee internet, frivolous purchases, i love technology
