I'm going to Palm Springs the third weekend of October. My friend Cindy, who works for
Starwood Hotels and Resorts, booked me a room for the weekend of October 24th-26th, at her employee rate (which means I get a $290/night room for around $100/night...a four- or five-star hotel at three-star rates! You can't beat that).

There's not that much to do...golf, swimming in a pool in the winter (that's my favorite), some shopping (Trina Turk has a store out there), and nice restaurants. There's other local stuff (Native American historical spots) and there's an Indian casino nearby, plus some trails...but it's not a great spot if you're looking for scenery and stuff because it's pretty...brown. With palm trees. But mainly brown. Haha.
I think I like going because I like feeling semi-retired when I head over there. It's pretty relaxing.
