Last summer, I got an internship at Hamilton Sundstrand. It's the type of internship even engineers, who are generally paid fairly well even as interns, strive for. I made $25 an hour. I cannot tell you how many times people put me down for that. I actually went out on a date that summer where the guy told me I could pay for not only myself, but him as well, since I "made so much money". Dillon tried to make me his, "suga mamma" so I could pay everything for him. After all, I didn't "deserve or need the money" because my parents "paid for everythign anyways." Every time my roommate whined that I made 3 times the amount as her, I wanted to punch her tiny whiny blonde head. (Well, I wanted to for other reasons too. Long story.) While she sat there for 20 hours a weekend staring at her idol Judge Judy, or while that business kid was out toking, at the bar, and partying, I was working hard. Dammit I deserved that internship! This girl asked me to help her with her science resume because she needs to bring it with her when she goes to visit grad schools this summer and she only has a general resume of all the clubs and stupid student affairs shit she has done. So I sent her mine as a layout for it and we are friends so its not like she didn't know the stuff i've done and I told her when I got help writing mine they told me not to bother with putting things that weren't science related unless they were management experience. Which makes sense and I told her this and she then she threw a fit because her science background only filled a page. She then proceeded to blame me for getting all the opportunities and "taking" all the research. Excuse me? I took it? I was just a better student, I worked my ass off starting freshman year and got an internship at Williams College after freshman year and then another internship at Muhlenberg College in PA last summer. I didn't sit on my ass to get these. I just hate that instead of acknowledging that I earned what I got
