I *love* that line! It couldn't be more fitting... it literally clicked in my head as I read it.
And the trippiness of the second ficlet couldn't be more appropriate: I'm seeing Sheol as a trippy sort of place. It's a sentient construct, as it were (If that makes sense): it scans your consciousness, sensing your weaknesses, the things that set off your pain reflexes in the worst way, and exploits them.
