We had our first workshop critique session in English class today. I had put up my Sassanid fic that I also submitted to Wayward's contest (which I'll link whenever she puts everything up) for critique. It was mostly praise - I had several weeks to go over the story and edit it, so it looked pretty good. Felt quite good about the session, all

Eh... everyone hits the "my writing sucks" point. I can't help but think that every time I write something, it's complete and utter trash, and that I shouldn't bother posting it anywhere. But, I think it's a natural reaction, just turns a little too high. We've got to be critical of our work, but sometimes we turn it up a little too much, and nothing ever seems good. Have you ever Dorothea Brande's book, I think its' "Beoming a Writer?" Lots of interesting stuff in there.

Don't let it get you down. Just keep writing, and you'll do fine.
