Nightbeat did not deliberately manipulate her. Overlord's just being nasty. (If Pee-Dee heard about this when she was sane, she would point out there are plenty of stories where the guy and girl just dislike each other and bicker.)
Yeah. It's just Pee-Dee wants it to be clear to Nightbeat that she is a-okay with everything and does not feel manipulated. So don't angst, dork. Not sure how best to communicate that.

Pee-Dee/Xaaron and pee-Dee/Mirage had no trope backing going for them, straight-trope or anti-trope.
Not that falling for someone due to tropes is a bad thing! Just a thing.
