"Hey!" Miko threw herself down on the cafeteria bench across from him. "Guess who's got four tickets to the Slummingbirds next month?"

"Rob from Geometry?" It wouldn't surprise Jack at all if he did, too. The guy loved obscure metal bands just as much as Miko. Heck, if she had tickets, he wasn't sure why she was telling him about it and not Rob.

She rolled her eyes. "Thrasher probably does, but! So do I! So it's going to be you, me, Raf, and Bulkhead!"

"Because Bulkhead totally needs a ticket." Jack grinned.

Twisted Fate's body lay before a headstone so old barely a nub of stone remained. His hat covered his face, obscuring how badly the shotgun blast had torn into him. His left hand was missing - Graves had taken it as proof of his kill. She didn't want to risk anyone in the League discovering that she'd taken Twisted Fate's body by stealing his hand back. He'd have to find a way to work around it when he came back.

She'd bet her life that he'd come back. What did he have to lose?

Getting back to the ship was easier said than done. Once outside the oasis, so much of the future and past leapt to blazing life around Zuko that he staggered and walked as if drunk, needing a guard at either elbow. The battle went on around them, and twice, Zhao thrust the bag holding the Moon Spirit into his arms and fought with his men to defend their prince. The first time, the Avatar had looked as if he would intervene, but the Southern prince held him back.

"You're hard," Zuko said sleepily, curled up against the lieutenant's side one night.

"Hardly."

He snickered at the play on words. Yes, in that way, Jee wasn't hard. But for the rest... "You made yourself hard rather than become a traitor, then they gave you the shame you earned and took your hair, and you became harder still. But you're not _evil_. Even after everything you did. How is that?"

Aang brought Appa down in one of the courtyards of the Earth King's palace, and there were two Water Tribesmen waiting for them. Hakoda studied them warily - the old man wore blues too dark to be Southern. The young woman wore a dress the color teal Hakoda only saw when the Earth Kingdom was trying and failing badly to make clothes for the Water Tribe. Both of them had silvery-white hair, but there was something strange about the whiteness of the young woman's hair.

It wasn't really white, some part of him thought, it was just reflecting.
