And yes, execution needs to be good too. I think the other problem was that it was scripted by the other guy.
It's also worth noting that the artist, Alex Milne, was also the artist for TF Origins: Megatron, but the breakdowns were terrible and nonsensical and yet in 22 & 23 they are crisp and easy to follow. So sometimes it's not just the artist but the script he has to work with, too.
#22 and #23 is crammed with detail and character and incident and word balloon, so Milne's art really shouldn't look so much better than Origins. A big chunk of that is Milne being better than he was four years ago, but clearly Roberts knows how to communicate to artists.
I am amused at how America calls kiwifruit kiwi, and now seems to call kiwis kiwi birds.
I totally agree with you re: the last three TF issues. I wanted to really like the art for issue 24 for being different, but yeah, the colourist kinda messed it up.
