Pee-Dee, There's a new sheriff in town (1/2)

This is completely not about the prompt.

The sandskimmer's engine sputtered, died, and Pee-Dee abruptly found herself going aft over teakettle. She crashed into the sand hard, one arm coming off at the shoulder and her chest cracking. The arm got caught in the sleeve of her jilbab. As soon as her gyros stopped spinning, she unbuttoned her jilbab and reattached her arm.

The tortured sound of her sandskimmer digging its own trench just drew a weary vent-cycle from her.

She heard that sound way too much.

After she welded her chest shut, Pee-Dee went to check the damage. The wreck hadn't taken out the engine, at least, but she'd need to rebuild the floats and fix whatever had caused the engine to die in the first place. Again.

Petulantly, she threw herself onto the ground with a scream and beat her fists against the sand. Two months! She'd been stuck on Kharab for two months without seeing hide nor hair of another Autobot! Her sandskimmer was jury-rigged from salvaged wrecks, traded junk, and parts from her own body! It was held

She found a road before things got too rough, then some market towns and irrigated farmlands. She traded parts and labor for better parts, upgraded her sandskimmer, asked directions, got pointed towards the nearest city.

And what a city it was. She'd loved it. Golden and beautiful, azure and emerald minarets, silver and ruby domes, dazzling textiles, delicious fuels, markets as thick and wicked as anything from the Arabian Nights. But they'd never heard of the Autobots or the Decepticons there nor seen any robots like the ones she had on her pack of cards

Cool! Will there be more? This reminded me of Ringo & Weber's March Upcountry, though you're doing more of a "Marooned" adventure than an Xenophon's Anabasis. Also, are there Tusken Riders & Banthas?

I enjoy this, how it feels like it could be a 'real' 'episode' from DZ. There is some neat usage of language, too, like 'aft over teakettle'.

I like how you tossed in Crankcase, even though we don't have him... yet. ;D

Also, Not Earth. Bonus points.
