Not-AtLA Mini-Meme

Five slots, two requests per person. They cannot be Avatar: the Last Airbender-related. You are much more likely to get something, mind, if it's actually in a fandom I've written for or have gleed over.

If I filled a request for you on the Ozai AUs meme and you haven't replied, don't request here.

Meme is CLOSED.

[Transformers] Hook and his pet Perceptor head beckyh2112 June 22 2011, 02:08:33 UTC
Initiating cold boot.

Before the War, Perceptor would have had to have been 75% through a cold start-up before he was conscious. These days, it took a mere 5%; he knew several mechs who had slivered it down to 1%. Though, they, he thought muzzily, tended to shoot whomever was closest before their sensors interrogated their target's IFF. The habit had saved Prowl's life on a number of occasions; conversely, it had also put Red Alert in critical care twice.

He checked the charge on his light cannon-

His light cannon was disconnected.

Alarm flashed through Perceptor's mind, then his boot hit 15% and he could access his alert queue.

Light cannon, offline.

Motor systems, offline.

Radio, offline.

Optical sensors, offline.

Radar, offline.

Miscellaneous sensors, offline.

Panic spiked as the cold boot continued, and those systems didn't come online. Oh dear, all he had was his vocoder and his audio sensors- He could yell for help, but what if no one was around ( ... )

I really like how this plays on how, in one of his very first posts, Perceptor's meta mentioned he doesn't wake up very quickly. The progression is cool.

The betrayal is delicious.

Oooooo! Very very awesome. I like the way you progress this, from awareness to understanding. Deliciously evil.

We will pretend that icon!Nephrite is Rubeus for the nonce.

*purrpurrpurr* I adore this one.

The names are delightful unto me and the cats catching on so very quickly. And Artemis asks a very good question. Thank you, darling!

I've got no mojo for either of these fandoms right now. Please ask for something new?

Animated Aerialbots: what's my take on them beckyh2112 June 22 2011, 02:41:58 UTC
I actually mentioned them off-hand once in a Jetstorm ficbit.

"Autobots have fliers now?" Slingshot sounded offended.

Watching the blue and orange jetlings fly rings around Fireflight, Silverbolt could understand the offense. It wasn't as if he was particularly proud of his wings, heck, it wasn't as if he was particularly attached to them ( ... )

I will confess this confuses me. They have wings but are not fliers? Snowplow?

I kind of get that they're fighting the Elite Guard for... training?

Ah. Apparently I should have mentioned they're Decepticons at some point. >_<

If I were writing serious Animated stories, they'd probably have had a run-in with Elita and Nightbeat prior to this, been mentioned a few times, then this thing vs. the Elite Guard...

Then probably Optimus sways Silverbolt to the side of good in a later episode. >_>

Will after seeing Elizabeth kiss Jack.

Norrington has something in common with Barbossa.

(I apologize for double the POTC request -- it's the first fandom that came to mind)

He wakes in sunlight on hard sand, waves lapping around his legs. He squints at the blue sky and thinks, This isn't right.

"It is right," a woman says, and he turns his head to see a Negro woman sitting on the sand beside him. The wash of the tide is soaking her dress, but she doesn't seem to care. "It is a debt repaid, a life for a life."

He stares at her, uncomprehending.

His stomach growls.

She chuckles and holds out a tart green apple. "Come, Admiral Norrington. You have much to learn."

*squeals*

I really like this! ^_^ The idea that Norrington survived-- or at least was revived-- is appealing enough in itself. But the implications of the prompt and the presence of Tia Dalma suggest an underlying circumstance. And, also, I do love the mention to that apple! :D

Beautiful. Absolutely so. <3
