That Highschool AU beckyh2112 April 19 2011, 21:42:51 UTC
"Okay, Zuko, give me your knife," Sokka ordered as he eyed Jet's flashy new car. No way no delinquent asshole was taking his sister to the prom. And since reasoned debate with Katara hadn't worked, he'd go with sabotage.

"... I don't have a knife."

"Seriously, what kind of leather jacket wearing bad boy are you?!"

Zuko hunched deeper into his jacket and muttered, "One who doesn't get his skin peeled off if he takes a tumble from his motorcycle."

Will decides to move to London to escape the dregs of the sea. beckyh2112 April 19 2011, 21:55:35 UTC
If you go down to the Lower Pool and ask the right sorts of people - the people with the sea in their walk, rum on their breath, and kohl around their eyes to deal with a tropical sun that doesn't shine in London - they might tell you how to get to the smithy.

Half of them are lying, and half the ones that aren't have it wrong anyway. There's only two men who can guarantee the route - the madman with the broken compass that hardly ever comes to this port, and the old captain with the green apples.

They'll take you to the smithy, though, for the right price. It's half-sunk under a wharf, a rickety ladder leading down into it. The side is open to the river and it laps right in across the floor.

The smith's feet are bare, and the Thames smells like clean salt in his smithy.

He'll smile and ask you what you want in the accent of a man from the Caribbean colonies, and if you have the right price, he'll make you exactly the kind of sword you want.

Sometimes, he'll even make you the sword you need.

Usagi sobbed against Seiya's chest. "He left..."

"Sssh, Usa-hime, sssshhhh. He doesn't know what he had," Seiya said softly, rubbing her back and holding her close. "He'll come to his senses, you'll see."

Some part of Seiya's soul privately hoped Chiba-san wouldn't, but the Starlight knew it would destroy the beloved princess if she didn't have that hope to hold onto right now.

The one where Elizabeth cheats on Will beckyh2112 April 19 2011, 22:23:17 UTC
"Do you not love your goddess, Sao Feng?" Elizabeth knew she was walking a fine line. If the man truly tried to test her abilities as the sea goddess, he would discover his mistake. She had to keep him off balance.

If she was entirely honest with herself, she did this for more than just practical reasons. The way he looked at her made her nipples tighten, and from the moment she'd seen him in the steaming bath-house, she had... wondered.

OMG this is lovely. I'm stealing it for myself. :D :D

In the meantime!!!! (Sorry these are mostly crossovers)

1) The one Avatar pirate!AU where they go against the Black Pearl, cannons blazin'.
2) Codex Alera where Tavi is actually The One, and the reason behind his genius is that he can see just that much more into the workings of the Matrix.
3) Mai was playin' Zuko all along. Her ambition for power rivals even Azula's, but she's just better at it. ;D

"There are a lot of our people who will be hurt if you relinquish our lands to the Earth Kingdom." Mai brushed her hair, hardly looking in the mirror at her husband. "We've had those lands for decades. There are many farmers and crafters and townsfolk who will be ruined if the Earth Kingdom siezes those lands from us."

Zuko frowned as the servants dressed him for the formal breakfast. "Aang thinks it's important for us to return the colonies to the Earth Kingdom."

Mai sighs. "Well. I'm sure the Avatar is never mistaken."

Guilt flashed across Zuko's face. "... Yeah. Aang's not."

She finished brushing her hair in silence then went to her husband and kissed his cheek. "I know you'll do what's right for our people, Zuko."
