Mai wears black silk under the linen dress. Silk tangles arrows and blades, silk is lovely when woven with subtle navy blue patterns. Anyone close enough to see such patterns must be very close indeed.

"Grey doesn't suit you," Ty Lee chirps, plucking at the long V of the dress's neck. "I like the plunge, but it'd be prettier in red. Incarnadine."

Her flingers flicker down to the black buttons on the skirt and toy with them. "Incarnadine," she repeats, "and tiger-eye buttons. That'd be so pretty, Mai."

"I like this," Mai says quietly as Ty Lee's clever fingers undo a button.

"My," Zhao murmurs, and his knees hit the deck and his eyes devour Zuko. "My."

Fingers twine in the translucent red fall of Zuko's sleeves. Some part of him wants to spark and burn, up until the admiral nuzzles his thigh. Until teeth delicately bite the red silk, and fire coils low in his stomach.

He still wants to spark and burn. Just... differently.

I... most times I abhor Zuko in dresses because people more often than not are doing it wrong.

And you did it right, with Zhao on his knees and clearly in charge. <3

"That was something Granpakku taught me," Katara hisses as her hands fall to her sides and the blood falls to the floor.

She's still stuck in this wretched dress that has to be glued on somehow. Even all the myriad ruffles and bows on the skirt are still intact, though she thinks longingly of just ripping them off and leaving them on the pervert's corpse.

But she needs to help Sokka first. She needs to stretch her waterbending to the uttermost and repair all the cracks in his skull.

She wishes she could heal better.

(She wishes Sokka were awake to run his fingers down her back and tell her everything would be fine.)
