On the night of the summer solstice, all guards and servants are forbidden from the three stories of the Palace devoted to the Firelord's quarters. There are whispers of what happens then, of the Firelord's imprisoned wife slipping from her cell to be with him, of Firelord Ozai being tormented by his father's ghost, of a thousand impossible things.

None are as impossible as the red-gold feathers of the Phoenix as its beak slides through Ozai's hair.
