'If you wish to command men of the Earth Kingdom, Lady Ichiko, you must dress as befits a lady.' Lia drew her hand back from the wall, the characters cut more smoothly in the stone than any artist could have done with a chisel.

The Fire Nation girl in boys' clothes grinned. "But I look good like this."

Lia nodded, then laid her hand on the wall again. 'You do. You also look like a barbarian.'

Ichiko scowled. "The Dai Li dress as men."

'The Dai Li do not,' Lia corrected. 'We dress similar to men and similar also to married women. We are strange women, and few men of the Earth Kingdom would follow us.'

"I don't have any girl's clothes," Ichiko declared as if she were playing a trump card ( ... )

"How come none of these have the symbols you wear, Lia?" Ichiko asked as she wrapped another brilliant purple ruqun skirt over the blouse ( ... )

We should totes commission some Liuchiro stuff. /random

Oh, Ichiko. <3 You don't like being called a barbarian at all.

I love this whole thing, with the dragging out shopping and Ichiko being all 'this totally isn't necesarry' and 'borednao' and Lia not caring. Also Ichiko totally checking Lia's civilian clothes out. She totally wants to strip Lia out of that dress and do X-rated things.

The detail is also awesome, with Lia wanting cranes for Ichiko and the reasons behind that, and the meaning of the axeheads Lia wears. <3 I also ADORE Ichiko being all "OMGPRETTY" when Lia finally takes her to the kanzashi shop -- but still having no idea of seasonal wear. "The time for wearing cherry blossoms is past? Whut?"

Oh, Lia, you're going to pay for calling Ichiko a barbarian so often.

'That would look terribly barbaric.'

"You know, my Lord Mother considers the Earth Kingdom terribly barbaric." Ichiko flashed a grin and raked her hand through her hair.

'It is a pity that she does not understand what she sees of us.'I adore ( ... )
