Hakoda batters himself with recriminations later. He should have seen it coming, he should have realized things had gone far too easily.

It's Bato, of course, who reminds him that yes, he should have expected it, and yet he could never have and still be Hakoda. Because he is the alpha male of the Southern Tribe, and while Sokka is growing into an alpha in his own right, and Arnook is alpha of the Northern Tribe, Hakoda has never actually dealt with an enemy alpha

Zuko did get his lousy sexual timing from his dad. Iroh has been very frustrated to have TWO generations of people like that. (Ozai will hold on the hate!sex if it means not having it while he's injured and bleeding.)

Sadly, the last line means the evil plot gets advanced more. No Hakozai in Vampatar until someone really pisses Ozai off, and we find out exactly what Ozai is since he's not a wolf.
