[Lightning at Sea] Volcano

So I lied. I cleaned up a requested ficlet to use as canon for the Lightning at Sea/Water Tribe as aggressors AU. Next up will be "Taken at the Flood", which I haven't even started writing yet.

A rogue airbender! This makes me happy! There seems to be so many rules and regulations expected among the Air Nomads with such high standards that it seems silly to me that there weren’t more rogues. However, it did look like Gyatso was prepared to go rogue to protect Aang in ALTA.

No matter the verse, it seems like Zuko will always be just a little awkward. Did Ozai burn him again or do I have to be patient for more stories? I also have to add I love the affection between Lu Ten and Zuko.

I am really looking forward to more!

Ketu is going to show up more in the future, though probably not until "season two". On the flip side, there's other rogue airbenders we'll be running into before then.

I love writing the rogue airbenders, because they're really different from the way Aang does things. (Which reminds me, since the Air Nomads are still alive in this 'verse, I definitely need to tackle a fic with Aang going to them.)

You will have to wait to find out about what happened with Zuko's scar. For a while, honestly. *ruffles*

Lu Ten is going to be so much fun to write, since hey, he's alive and around to be awesome. *bwees*

Looking forward to it. I promise not to paint them off as evil. Just as Air Nomad monks whom really missed a good spicy chicken. Joking! I’m suspecting they’re more active and less reverent about life in general? *Impatient!* (Yes! I’d like to see how the Air Nomads will react to Aang coming back. Reminds me of the Shia and the 12th Iman.

*Impatient sulk!* Aww, poor ponytailed Zuko. He seems less angry than he is in canon. I’m looking forward to innocent Toph and Zuko hijinks and Zuko getting bailed out by his big cousin. I’m also looking forward to seeing Azula and how she’s changed in this world.

They're not evil. They're just not good either. Most of the rogues hang with the Fire Nation in this 'verse. For various and diverse reasons which I will get into when we see more of them. (Yeah, that's going to be interesting as heck. They lost the Avatar! But ohai, he's back. With a pair of Fire Nation royal siblings.) (Shia and the 12th Iman? What is? *curious!*)

He is likely less angry. Less reason to be angry at the world. Mm, Azula is going to be interesting, mostly because I kind of am completely uncertain how to handle her in normal'verse. So the prospect of doing her in this world-altering AU makes me a bit flailsome. However, she is pretty vital to the dynamics, so I need to buckle down and hammer her out.

Toph is more bad-ass than half the universe. Zuko has no idea what he's gotten into. (Technically, three days later, she's his current wife, but you know.)

I can't help but wonder if Iroh or Lu Ten sees the "more badass than you"-ness of Toph and that's why they arranged for that match. And yeah, three days later, but right now she's future.

You know what I can't wait for now? Azula's first encounter with her new sister-in-law. Because there is no way that will not be explosive.

(Also, who is AZULA betrothed to in this 'verse? Surely they want her married and producing heirs ASAP too considering the circumstances.)

Azula's first encounter with Toph will undoubtedly be messy. Fortunately, we've got almost a year in-story before that happens.

(Now that is a good question. *considers some possibilities, makes a few notes* Though, I suspect they do not want her producing heirs so much as want to make use of "unmarried Fire royal" as a trading piece.)
