I have to admit, I pretty much lose all sympathy for Aang and Mai when they go have a baby, but I am very much a 'two wrongs do not make a right' person. I also have to admit that I'm not sure if they had a baby or who the father is.

Sometimes, I also read fanfic that does not make sense to me, and I want to write fanfic about how things would actually happen, but I never have the skill or attention span top pull it off. Apparently, you have both the skill and the attention span to make it awesome

Yes.

Zuko, there are consequences to your actions. You do not get any more free passes. And Mai, you tough beautiful awesome lady. I am so glad she's making him work for forgiveness. I also like that she accepts Ozai's help but doesn't let him go too far, and that she still just wants to kill him sometimes.

And how much do I like that Sokka is pissed off at Katara too. Because really, yes. What Zuko and Katara did was extremely destructive to both their families, and they don't deserve to be let off the hook anytime soon. Mai ... was also a little destructive, but I can't at all fault her for hooking up with Aang.

Overall, I loved it. It's so nice to see the flip side of the way so many Zutara fics work.

A number of Zutara fics I've read seem to think Zuko and Katara exist in a vacuum, which just annoys me so very much. Especially when they forget about Zuko's duties as Firelord. (The duties of a Firelord are currently driving two different fics I'm planning. Duty and rulership have always been a thing with me.)

Oh Mai! What an awesome Mai! The part where Ozai comes out to play with his grandchild was unexpected but made for a really interesting fic. And, ee, babiiies. Great take on the other side of Zutara badfic. your Aang characterization was wonderful too. loved it.

Ozai loves his grandchildren. Mostly because he can give them back to their parents when he's bored with them.

I am so glad people like Mai's characterization here. This was my first real attempt at writing her, and I was writing it as a "take that" at Zutara badfic, so there's so many ways things could have gone horribly wrong. <3
