1. I prefer to believe Sureshock is male, since he's male or indeterminate in the American dub. Which, is the only version I've watched.
2. Transformers: Lonely Star would be an AU where Starscream remained an explorer after Skyfire got iced, instead of eventually becoming the Prince of Vos and then joining the Decepticons. This Starscream stayed neutral and when the Great War began, he buggered the hell off. This was not a situation he wanted to get involved in.
Sadly, he only stuck around long enough to find that there was a planet-wide war going on, not which side was which. So about five million years down the line, he gets picked up by a bunch of purple-sigilled, red-opticked thugs led by this terrible silver warlord.
It seems Cybertron has almost run out of energy, and that it's in the middle of a famine. Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, has gone out to search for energy to bring back to the home world. Perhaps, just perhaps, the explorer could provide him with some navigational data?
