I am a Pixar fangirl - whatever they do, it tends to be brilliant, but this is just *beautiful*. Especially given that there will be a lot of kids who'll watch this (because, they're looking for stuff related to Pixar movies) and hopefully they'll get the message.
I would have liked to have seen a little more of these wonderful people, more to put names to faces (inveterate credit reader here;)) but more to say thank you, that they are awesome and appreciated.
Even without the animation - these guys can still make me cry - I lost it when the chap was explaining about going home to his partner and their cat.
We may be preaching to the choir, but boost the signal!
That's exactly when I lost it too. It is so wonderful to see all these amazing people feeling like they have found their place in the world, and that it's a fantastic place. Exactly the way it should be.
Pixar are geniuses - I've never seen a film of theirs that I think is average (and I don't think I ever will).
They'll get some flak for this (from small minded idiots) but I think it's worth boosting the signal because the heart and soul that makes their films so wonderful?
All there onscreen, in that short.
And yes, I cried too; the lady who had to be talked down from her dorm roof and the guy going up those nine stairs to the house he shares with his partner and their cat - heartbreaking but still they can share them.
To quote another geek fave - you can't stop the signal!
