"The secret," Jack is telling Owen, "is confidence."
He slides his palms, warm, strong and a little rough, up Owen's arms to his shoulders. His voice is low and intimate, close enough for Owen to feel the heat of Jack's breath and the faintest hint of lips against his ear.
Owen wants to know how far past the bravado and bluster Jack sees. If Jack's seeing, really seeing, how cold and brittle and small Owen feels. He wants to know where Jack gets all his confidence and why he's always warm.
Owen doesn't ask; he kisses Jack.
