I bring the whine, you bring the cheese

So, I have a very bad case of car woe! at the moment. The good news is that the car was salvagable. The bad news is that the clutch is now utterly fucked.

In the last twenty four hours, trying to get the car into anything resembling 1st or 2nd gears has resulted in me pulling muscles in my left side and arm. I'm trying to make light of the fact by reminding myself that this is the only thing I've pulled (britslang for attracting a cutie) in the last few years!

It ain't working. Being in pain is not funny.

The Father Unit will look into it (re: procure a new car) but as these things cost more money than I have in the savings right now... Oh well - it's only money - if it means that I keep my independence then... it's a fair trade off.

Remember what Jack Sparrow said about the Pearl in the first Pirates of the Carribean film? That the Pearl wasn't just a ship, she was freedom? That's what a car is to me. The ability to do what I want pretty much when I want it. To choose when and where I go.

First world problem, I know...

Keep you all posted

In happier news...

Did I mention that I saw Neil Gaiman this week? I did? Well, I'm mentioning it again as he is simply AWESOME. Someone who needs to be taken to the nearest hostelry (with comfy seats) plied with all manner of good food and drink and gotten to talk about *everything*. This also applies to Sir Ian McKellen because... duuuude!

Oh and car permitting - STAR TREK TONIGHT!!!!!ELEVENTY!!!!

car woe, movies, oh crap!
