Is a $400 BGE bill for one month's use, for three people in a 1000 square foot apartment with the thermostat set at 65 degrees at all times, with our normal fall/summer bill of $120 to compare against as far as laundry/appliances/computers/whatnot? $400?? That's ridiculous, right? Something was either misread or our heat pump is broken.

Word. Last month our bill was $370something for our just under 1000 sq place. Our thermostat has like four time periods so for about two hours in the morning it gets as high as 69, most of the day it's at 65, and at night it goes down to 60. I donno. I started trying to remember to unplug everything ever when we're not using it but it's hard. We'll see what this month brings. :/

Yeah, we don't have a programmable thermostat, we have some ancient thing with two tubes of mercury inside glass inside of it...and it kicks on hard at night, then doesn't seem to come on at all past noon. I just started adjusting it each day myself, turn it down when we leave and up when we get home (60 to 65) but something just feels wrong about how expensive it is.
