I really want to know what the point of tumblr is... You reblog stuff that other people reblog/blogged and you like stuff you like? And post original content like you do with your LJ? *shrugs* I'm not sure I get it?

It sort of depends on how you want to use it, I guess? I once saw tumblr compared to a party post on lj, except IT NEVER ENDS and that's a pretty accurate description for a lot of people. It's definitely about posting gifs and reblogging other people's content that you liked, but it's also a place where you can post shorter, quicker notes instead of composing longer lj entries. And there are a lot of people writing rants that get reblogged a lot, which is a different culture than lj, where you just link.

Or you can use it like I mostly use it--a way to post fanart links in sort of like one big recommendations blog. It's nice because you can find a lot of really great gifs or pictures that you wouldn't otherwise necessarily find yourself, especially since tumblr lets you browse all posts tagged a certain way--like, say, if I want to find sailor moon posts by other people, I just hit that up and go browsing around ( ... )

My problem with tumblr is that it's horribly overwhelming and I never feel like I'm on equal footing on it. Like with LJ, you can go back so many entries and hit a definite end and you can say, okay, I've seen everything I've missed. With tumblr, I keep running into the same things over and over again but there's also new stuff in there too and I never feel like I'm ever done with it.

I'm not so much into fanart (actually hate it) or animated gifs (which I've always thought were a bit immature even before they've blown up the way they have now)... The rants, I've seen, which make me awfully uncomfortable so I try not to read into them very much...

*shrugs* I've never been opposed to posting short LJ entries, even ones that are just one sentence... I'm starting to think that for me, tumblr might just be good as a repository of cute Darren Criss pictures that I can't be bothered to save on my hard drive but still want to revisit? *shrugs*

I haven't followed DC in forever because I got so tired of their crap. And, also, Marvel has been pretty nice to me lately. I'm sort of afraid to look into the whole reboot thing.

I... I don't know how I feel about Babs being Batgirl again. On the one hand, it seems like such a horrible idea and there are a million reasons not to, especially because of Cass and Steph and, oh, you know, SHE PUT ALL OF THAT BEHIND HER. On the other hand... Babs as Batgirl! I AM SORRY BUT MY ROOTS ARE IN B:TAS I CANNOT DENY WHO I AM. So, I realize, I'm a horrible person. orz
